Miss Possible Dolls, Inspire Young Girls
August 12, 2014
Supriya Hobbs and Janna Eaves, recent graduates of the University of Illinois, are set out on a mission. Their mission is to create dolls based on real women that girls can look up to. These dolls are called the Miss Possible dolls. The duo hope to spark young girls' interests in math and science. The dolls will come with an app that will allow users to learn about the doll's history and play games.
Hobbs and Eaves realize that women are under represented in feilds relating to science and technology. The Miss Possible dolls are attemps to attract more girls to these feilds.
“There’s research showing role models matter,” Hobbs said. “Early exposure to these fields makes a difference.” Hobbs also says that they will try everything they can.
