Disabled Dog Gets 3D Printed Wheelchair
August 19, 2014
An adorable 6 month old Chihuahua named Turboroo was born without two front legs. The adorable pup was adopted by a tech at a Veterinarian’s office named Ashley Looper. Ashley set up a fundraising campaign to help raise money for Turboroo.
Mark Deadrich, the president of a 3D printing company called 3dyn heard about Turboroo's situation and designed a specialized 3D wheelchair just for the dog.
Now that Turbo is allowed to move and play to his heart's content, Ashley is training him to be a service/educator dog so he can inspire children with disabilities.
This story is more evidence to prove that technology and 3D printing can really can and is making a difference in the world today. Turboroo's story is also inspiring to young kids who maybe also rely on prosthetics or a wheelchair.
